Wonderful Time in Beautiful Carnelian Bay

It's a small townhome, but for my husband and me, it was just fine. It would also be good for a couple with small children, although they would sleep upstairs in the loft. The living area was small, but comfortable. The kitchen was well stocked, but only two chairs for dining at the very small table. The two items we needed, but thankfully brought with us, were Kleenex tissues and napkins. We enjoyed breakfast at The Old Post Office, shopping at The Robin's Nest, and having a very nice birthday dinner at Lanza's Restaurant. We also walked to the beach and sat at a picnic table for quite awhile enjoying the lake and beautiful sky.

An amazing Stay at Lake Tahoe

Clear water in the lake, beautiful skies and amazing mountains with snow tops! Ample trails of all levels and awesome skylines. The Onyx Gem was a clean and simple accommodation. I would give it 4 stars - some nicks and damages, though minor could have been repaired before we came. Otherwise, it was plesant.

First accommodations office was prompt in response to questions about our stay. Beds were comfortable and fireplace was very nice for a chilly, snow winter visit. Would recommend and/or stay here again.

The townhouse was quiet and so peaceful. We walked to the beach in about 3 minutes. It was hard to find a place that would accommodate us all. This was perfect! My wife is disabled and needed a place with no stairs, for the main living and a bedroom. She was able to enjoy all the family gatherings. It was a little difficult getting to the door as the walkway was sloped and right at the door, the steepest. We were able to find the best path and everything worked well. We enjoyed our stay so much, we wanted to stay longer. Thank you for hosting us. We made great memories.

The kitchen is not super updated but we didn't use it to cook--just had takeout and it did have amenities to make coffee, etc. Was wishing for some plastic bags or tin foil for leftovers but not a big deal. The Smart TV and fireplace were great--the place was quiet and we all slept well. King bed in the master is a bit on the soft side but still slept well after skiing we were too tired to not sleep! Complex is quiet and easy parking. We loved all of the Tahoe maps to look at--nice décor and felt very "Tahoe" and cozy. We'd stay again.

Pounding, sawing, drilling , people on roof. Following that day lots of banging and clanging as cleaning crew cleaned up the repair mess. 1st accommodations review was that I shouldn’t stay in a condo cause I complained. My response is that I shouldn’t have been charged and they should have been more sympathetic to a guest staying next to a construction zone. When the very noisy cleaning crew, thumping son walls etc left they had a cart filled with multiple large trash bags. My experience has been it’s always better to stay in place managed by the person who owns it.

Cozy condo that is perfect for 4 people. Layout is essentially a typical 1BR condo with a loft. Fantastic Rental, Surprise 3rd Party Rental Company Communication

I feel like the property’s affiliation with First Accommodations should be disclosed/added to the rental listing to avoid confusion for future renters. When I booked through VRBO and got the VRBO confirmation email, I thought my rental was set to go (just like any other rental through the website). Nope. All of First Accommodations’ emails went to my junk email and I didn’t even realize I had more paperwork/emails to respond to before my arrival. They ended up calling me 2 weeks before my arrival and we got everything worked out. Just wish I would have known!
I will say that it IS very dark, especially in the living room/kitchen area, due to low natural light sources. It didn’t bother us, since we were gone most of the day, but something to consider if you plan to be “home” during the daylight hours. A positive to the “cave-like” nature of the rental is that it stays very cool throughout the day even when it’s hot outside.
Overall, we’d 100% stay at this rental again! It was perfect for our summer vacation to Tahoe!

overall I liked the property. The bathroom extras only consisted of soap, shampoo and conditioner would be nice. The carpets were quite dirty, I inky know this because my daughters pants picked up a lot of dirt while crawling. The condo suited our needs perfectly and it was conveniently located to many things we wanted to do. My husband was very sick with Lyme disease but the urgent care clinic in Tahoe City was convenient as was the hospital in Incline (in case you need medical attention!) The primary improvement I could suggest would be to have a hairdryer in one of the bathrooms. Other than that we all agreed it was a great place to stay.

On Friday a storm hit and it snowed all day !! Our electricity went out for about an hour but a very nice man at the phone number provided walked us through getting the heat back on .. in the morning we woke to find someone shoveling our walk way !! We will definitely come back !! It was a wonderful 3 days !!

It's a great place to stay and be comfortable. The only downside was the pool was not open the days that we stayed, but overall it's in a nice area and neighborhood. The townhome was clean, had all the equipment we needed to make a big pot of chili, and was walking distance from the old post office cafe. We were within a half hour of several ski resorts, downtown Tahoe City, or King's Beach. The amenities were great (clubhouse with mini-arcade and pool tables, as well as jacuzzis and sauna!), and we would definitely stay here for future trips! :)

The beds and linens are very comfortable. It was nice having extra space in the loft upstairs. The only downsides are that it lacks a regular, family-friendly dining table and regular toaster, and the unit is rather dark. Everything was great, and the property manager even alerted us that Maintenance would come in to change a light bulb she had noticed out. Thanks! We'll consider it for next year.

On Friday a storm hit and it snowed all day !! Our electricity went out for about an hour but a very nice man at the phone number provided walked us through getting the heat back on .. in the morning we woke to find someone shoveling our walk way !! We will definitely come back !! It was a wonderful 3 days !!

This unit was perfect. A very short walk to the lake's edge and with a beautiful outdoor pool, nicely maintained tennis courts and excellent staff on site. It's a great place to stay and be comfortable. The only downside was the pool was not open the days that we stayed, but overall it's in a nice area and neighborhood. I would definitely stay there again.

The townhome was clean, had all the equipment we needed to make a big pot of chili, and was walking distance from the old post office cafe. We were within a half hour of several ski resorts, downtown Tahoe City, or King's Beach. The amenities were great (clubhouse with mini-arcade and pool tables, as well as jacuzzis and sauna!), and we would definitely stay here for future trips! :)

overall I liked the property. The bathroom extras only consisted of soap, shampoo and conditioner would be nice. The carpets were quite dirty, I inky know this because my daughters pants picked up a lot of dirt while crawling. Comfortable, clean, updated lodging

The beds and linens are very comfortable. It was nice having extra space in the loft upstairs. The only downsides are that it lacks a regular, family-friendly dining table and regular toaster, and the unit is rather dark. Everything was great, and the property manager even alerted us that Maintenance would come in to change a light bulb she had noticed out. Thanks! We'll consider it for next year.
